If you are interested in History and Religion, then collecting Biblical Coins might be a great and surprisingly
inexpensive hobby to consider. If you are unfamiliar with collecting coins, you might be surprised to hear that you can buy
a widows mite, as mentioned in the Christian Bible for around the same price as a CD or DVD.

Widows Mites are quite small bronze coins, usually green or brown in appearance with an anchor on one side and a wheel with
ray like spokes on the other, together with Hebrew inscription ‘Yehonatan the King’. They were made by the ruthless king of
Judea, Alexander Jannaeus around 2100 years ago, in such large quantities that many survive to this day.

Our knowledge of these and many other Biblical coins has developed over time, and gradually the study of such coins resulted
in the publication of books specifically dealing with Biblical coins. One of the first and still one of the best, although a
little outdated and inaccurate in places is:

The History of Jewish Coinage and of Money in the Old and New Testaments, Frederick W Madden (1864)

This Contains lots of line drawings and much historical information on each coin. Original copies are expensive ($200+), but
a reprint from Pegasus Publishing, dated 1967, is readily available for about $20 and is highly recommended.

Getting up to date, two names stand out in terms of popular books on Biblical Coins, Ya’akov Meshorer and David Hendin

The Guide to Biblical Coins 4th Edition, David Hendin, 2001 at approx $90 is the default standard, and if you only buy one
book on the subject, make it this one. It is a well-presented richly illustrated catalogue of just over 550 coins, all with
a unique and widely quoted reference number.

Ya’akov Meshorer wrote many books and papers on the subject of Biblical coins, the last one before he died becoming an
award-winning book is:

A Treasury of Jewish Coins, 2001 approx $90

These two excellent books are very different in style and format, but richly illustrate life and the money that was used in
Biblical times.

There are many other books on the subject, often selling for around the $20 range, by people like Rev Edgar Rogers, Florence
Aiken Banks, Kenneth Jacob and RS Yeoman. While these are worth a look, and all have value, they do not represent that
rounded catalogues of the above books.

There are many new books promised too that you should look out for, an updated book from David Hendin, and a new publication
from Richard Plant, provisionally titled ‘A numismatic journey through the Bible’.

In the coin collecting industry, many hobbyists often pay more for one than what the coin price is actually worth. This is
because they do not do the proper research about a particular price before purchasing it.

In today’s world, with the internet and information at your fingertips, you can find a long list of coin collecting tips
that will help you make decisions about it’s price, value, and authenticity. Since old rare coins are an investment, it is a
good idea to make sure you are buying authentic products.

One trusty resource that you’ll need is a collecting price guide. It can help you figure out the grade of your coins, and
also give you a good idea of coin price and what dealers are asking for all sorts of coins, from old rare to Celtic ones and
anything in between. There are many different types of collecting price guide, some focusing only on specific monies, such
as President coins or US coin prices.

One way of determining coin price is to avoid getting excited over what looks like a deal or bargain and carefully shopping
around to compare prices of the same one elsewhere than the location you found it. Comparing prices will give you a good
idea of the going rate as well as finding out whether the asking price is inflated or seriously undercut.

In either case, keep your money in your pocket and don’t fill someone else’s. The chances are that a price set too high or
too low is a case of fraud waiting for someone to bite the bait.

The condition of a coin also plays a major role when trying to determine the actual coin price of the item. If you are
relying on pictures and other images to determine the condition of old rare coins, you stand a chance of being swindled.

Be careful if you decide to purchase your coins over the internet. When you read advertisements about their condition and
price, be sure to read the fine print and look for hidden meanings or possible loopholes in the words that are used.

Dealers you do business with should be ones that are members of the Professional Numismatists Guild (or PNG). Guild members
of the PNG need to uphold certain requirements to maintain the PNG stamp of approval and focus on honest dealing with both
buyers and sellers. The coin price of a PNG guild member is probably a fair one.

Many professional websites provide good collecting tips for the beginner in this hobby. Informing yourself about coin price
and value, as well as carefully reading all the collecting tips is important to make sure that the price you pay isn’t one
surrounded by a scam.

Coin collecting is an investment of your money in money, and as such, is a serious business and should never be taken
lightly.

Electric RC helicopters are becoming more and more popular everyday. However, one of their main criticisms is that they lack
of big models. Most electric RC helicopters are of the 400 size, which are not even as big as .30 size nitro helicopters –
the smallest kind. Electric RC helicopter pilots who wanted to fly bigger models had pretty much only one model to choose –
the T-REX 600 which although performs extremely well, comes with a hefty price tag. Now, from the production line of GAUI,
maker of many successful models such as the Zoom and the Shogun, comes another model to fill the void in the big electric
helicopter market: the Hurricane 550. With a much lower price, the Hurricane 550 will undoubtedly provide pilots who want to
try their hands on a big electric model helicopter with a promising alternative.

In The Box:

The Hurricane 550 comes as an ARF (almost ready to fly) kit and claims to be 95% pre-assembled from the factory. You still
to install the radio receiver, servos, and the gyro – a task which usually takes at least an hour for beginners.
Nevertheless, the main frame, the head set, and the tail come already assembled. The frame is made of a plastic composite
material which is strong and durable. The way that each pieces are put together should is quite impressive. Although the
model is pre-assembled, the manual provides a comprehensive instruction on how to completely rebuild it from scratch. This
is very thoughtful as lacking these instructions would make extensive repairs a daunting task.

The canopy comes already pre-painted. For many people who painting is not their strongest trait, this canopy is great news.
On the other hand, others who enjoy airbrushing their own helicopter may be less appreciative. On the quality side, it
should be noted that the canopy is noticeably thinner than other models, making it more brittle-prone. However, its thinner
canopy is a good weight-saver. This kit also includes a motor and a speed controller. The motor, the 800 KV outrunner, has
been upgraded to generate less heat and consume less power.

As for the battery, the Hurricane draws its required 22.2 V from two 11.1V packs. Personally, I think this is a very smart
way to implement its power system – unlike the T-Rex 600 which requires a whole new expensive battery pack.

The wooden blade that comes included with the kit is already sufficient. However, for modelers who would like something
different, this model can take any blades that is suitable for a .32 size nitro helicopter; namely blades from the 470-550
size.

In Flight:

In flight the Hurricane 550 proves an able helicopter. Beginner to intermediate pilots should find that this model is great
fun to fly, nimble and crisp. It is not as aggressive and the T-REX 600, but then again, you wouldn’t want to push this
model to fly out the most demanding 3D maneuver as the swash plate is made of plastic. As for the flight time, this model
can stay in the air for 8 minutes of ordinary flight and 5 minutes of 3D flight. All in all, although this model doesn’t
come with the aluminum tails, carbon bodies, and the shiny accessories of the T-REX, it is definitely worth its price.
